David Blunket to lecture in Hackney

Former Home Secretary David Blunkett is one of several high profile speakers giving weekly lectures during Lent at St Joseph’s Hospice.


February 21: Professor Tina Beattie, Director of the Digby Research Centre for Catholic Studies

February 28: Baroness Julia Neuberger

March 7: Amanda Waring, filmmaker and campaigner

March 14: Alison Gelder, Director of Housing Justice

March 21: Rt Hon David Blunkett MP

The Lentern Lectures at the hospice in Mare Street have become an institution, and other speakers - who will all tackle the subject of ‘service to the poor today’ - include Baroness Julia Neuberger, the Crossbench peer, and the former Bishop of Stepney, Rt Rev Stephen Oliver.

The lectures will be held at St Joseph’s at 1.30pm every Thursday until March 21.
