Young people taking part in a worldwide programme empowering young people to voice their opinions on global issues addressed an audience of 450 at the Southbank’s British Film Institute detailing what they learned.

Students aged 12-18 from Hackney Youth Parliament made films, posters, billboards and music videos about climate change, cyber-bullying and ethical fashion as part of the Adobe Youth Voices (AYV) initiative, which was delivered by Hackney Road based charity, the Eastside Educational Trust.

Eastside director Rakhee Jasani said: “AYV is powerful because we are able to support teachers and educators to develop their skills by working with industry professionals and harness this to young people’s desire to make their voices heard.

“Making media in a meaningful way and having your work reach an audience is not always easy but we’re so impressed with the work showcased at AYV Live! which shows energy, enthusiasm and spirit.”
