A talented young designer has made it through to the finals of a fashion competition, and could see her designs on the London Fashion Week catwalk this autumn.
Shermmaine Telan, 16, from Our Lady’s Covent High School in Amhurst Park was one of just three students selected to create designs for the clothing brand George stand at Graduate Fashion Week in June.
She also beat 120 hopefuls in the FAD (Fashion Awareness Direct) Fashion Futures 2012 programme.
She will join 25 other young designers for an intensive summer school at The University of East London, from where the fashion week designs will be picked.
