Mossbourne Academy pupils delighted music lovers on Tuesday night, with their own spectacular evening of entertainment - The Moscars.
The audience of 400 packed into Stoke Newington Town Hall in Church Street to hear movie-themed classic tunes from The Godfather, Austin Powers, Pulp Fiction, Chariots of Fire and The Great Escape.
Over 150 students across all age ranges and abilities took part in the event, including 15-year old “superstar” Callam Hale Thompson, who arranged and conducted the final orchestral piece.
The academy in Downs Park Road has just been made a music specialist school to celebrate the school’s creative achievements, alongside its well-documented academic prowess. The school achieved phenomenal success in its first GCSE results two years ago, with an 84 per cent pass rate, well above the national average.
