Youngsters from Independent Place Nursery in Shacklewell Lane, were full of awe at the joys of Spring as they picked up fluffy little chicks, freshly hatched out of their eggs.

The children at Independent Place Nursery are learning about growth and will get to care for the 10 chicks for a week, cleaning out their incubator and ensuring they get fed and watered.

Manager at the nursery in Independent Place, Shacklewell Lane, Alison Follows said: “The children were amazed by the chicks, and loved to hold them – they were often more confident than the adults were at looking after them.

“Everyone is very excited about the new additions to the nursery.”
