Youngsters from the Ministry of Stories led international guests on a walking story tour around Hoxton, mixing fact with fiction to showcase their knowledge and creative imaginations.
According to pupil Leah Dacosta, Hoxton has been associated with unusual fashions since the 80s, and she once saw a lady with rainbow coloured hair, clothes and face, while Ella Munro-Peebles, 10, spoke about an unusual vampire called Eva, who was always taking sneaky bites out of shopkeepers and people she met on the streets of Hoxton.
MoS runs innovative storytelling and writing workshops, building young people’s confidence, self-respect and communication skills in a writing centre hidden behind Hoxton Street Monster Supplies.
It has managed to beat hundreds of other organisations to be nominated for a National Lottery Award, and is going head-to-head with six other arts organisations for the Best Arts Project, and the chance to win a cash prize and be interviewed by John Barrowman on BBC One.
