A talented team of budding mathematicians pipped their peers to the post in a borough-wide maths challenge.
The year 7 team from Hackney New School made up of Tyler Hogan, Theo Hinton-Hallows, Chelsea Metu-Onyeka and Alex Lawrence-Kandappa took part in the competition against other schools in Hackney at Queen Mary University.
The quiz consisted of 12 questions, with students unable to start the next question until they had correctly answered the previous one.
Proud head teacher from the free school in Downham Road which opened in September 2012, Lesley Falconer said: “They showed excellent team working skills and of course mathematical prowess and answered all 12 questions correctly.”
