Photos profiling shop keepers in a market street taken by Hackney youngsters are being exhibited in a fish and chip shop there.

Pupils from Berger Primary School shot the images of Well Street, which dates back 150 years, during an after school club.

Last Thursday Meg Hillier, MP for Hackney South and Shoreditch, attended the launch of the portrait collection at the Well Street Fish and Chip shop.

Nefise Hussein, who runs the club, said: “We made contact with Well Street Traders and Residents Association which has helped us to make all the links with shops so the pupils have been able to visit and practice their photographic skills and learn how to take portraits in a real life situation.”

The work will be displayed until March 31 at Well Street Fish and Chips shop, Well Street Kitchen, and E9 Café.
