Thousands of visitors from across London tried inventing hairstyles for the catwalk, tiling mosaics and creating computer game characters when Hackney Community College threw open its doors.
The annual Summerfest event - which was opened by by Brent Hoberman, co-founder of entertainment website lastminute.com - invited potential students to try out digital and creative skills which are crucial in the workplace.
Other Have a Go activities across the campus in Falkirk Street included making music, recording a TV studio weather report; building a PC, and testing blood pressure and heart rate after high performance work outs.
Visitors were also treated to end of year art and design exhibitions, with live shows from performing arts and circus students and an end of year fashion catwalk show.
