Participants received a certificate after the 12-week programme called Strengthening Families Strengthening Communities which was run at the Daubeney Children’s Centre in Daubeney Road, Homerton by the Racial Equality Unit.
Families have celebrated the completion of a course empowering them to make positive choices in parenting.
Joint course leader Amanda Dean said parenting programmes can have a really positive effect on families and the community.
“The programme is holistic in that it looks at culture and spirituality as well as emotional, physical, economic well-being and of course community,” she said.
“We looked at parenting and how this can be achieved positively, so families in our community can lead violence-free healthy lifestyles.”
