Hackney tots at Queensbridge performed their alternative version of the Nativity story, Sheik, Rattle and Roll, which saw three wise men journey across the desert in search of the baby accompanied by a troupe of dancers.
Over 150 children from the school in Queensbridge Road, Haggerston - which won the Mayor’s Award for excellence in primary music education practice - joined in with the singing, dancing and acting.
Meanwhile 150 older children performed a version of Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhyme ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’.
Head teacher Sarah Bailey said: “It was directed by music specialist Kate Somerby, and included filmed scenes by a professional film maker, and dance and movement staged in collaboration with Giuliana Majo from Trip Space.
“It was a truly spectacular multi-media performance which proved so popular that for the first time ever the school had to stage two performances to a wide audience of professionals- it was an amazing show, it could tour.”
