Teachers were celebrated for their contributions to pupils’ academic and personal achievements during an awards night.
The Hackney “school stars awards” recognise the work of staff who work in a variety of roles.
The event, held on March 8 at Hackney Town Hall, saw the guest appearance of Liam Charles, former Hackney pupil and star of Channel Four’s The Great British Bake Off.
Deputy mayor Cllr Anntoinette Bramble, who presented the awards, said: “Our winners are true unsung heroes who tirelessly work everyday to achieve great results, or deliver special care to children and families so they can be successful.”
This year’s awards went to Donna Davis, from Wentworth Nursery School (star award); Debbie Ashton, from Grasmere Primary School (teacher of the year); and Rose Flaherty from Parkwood Primary School (lifetime achievement).
