The Deputy Head of Simon Marks Jewish Primary School has won a prestigious award from the Three Faiths Forum for helping to break down barriers and work to promote community harmony.
Mark Garfield from the school in Cazenove Road, Stoke Newington was named the Best Senior Leader by the interfaith organisation for his work leading and supporting teachers in interfaith and intercultural work over several years.
Cllr Linda Kelly, who is also Foundation Governor of Simon Marks said: “It makes me very proud that we have such a deputy head in the school and in Hackney, as his award embodies what Hackney is all about - community in its widest sense.”
