Students at William Patten Primary School have been getting to grips with climate change as part of a whole school project.

As part of Green Schools Project, a new social enterprise running across Hackney to develop children’s understanding of environmental issues, pupils at the Stoke Newington school were tasked with coming up with eco-friendly ideas.

Themes introduced by the students included energy saving at home, what the cars of the future should look like, and the use of solar panels and wind turbines.

Deputy headteacher Craig Porteous said: “It’s wonderful to hear the children talking about, and understanding, what they can do to make a positive difference to their environment.”
