A spectacular lantern show of more than 150 carved pumpkins has launched the ‘Festival of Light’ at the Dalston Eastern Curve Garden.
The community garden in Dalston Lane is hosting a series of activities to celebrate the importance of light in the dark winter months.
On Saturday 17 and Sundays 18 and 25 November, between 1pm and 4pm, artist Nicola Plant will work with children and adults to make giant lanterns from natural willow, inspired by the fruits, vegetables and seed-pods grown in the garden.
More lanterns and light installations will be created at workshops and activities in December, culminating in a special lighting up celebration on Sunday December 16.
