Clissold Park’s skate park is currently out of action after thugs dumped rubbish bins in it and set fire to them.

The incident in the Stoke Newington park last Monday night follows another, just days before, which saw vandals again set fire to bins close by.

Council staff and police investigating the vandalism are appealing for information, and have asked the public to get in touch if they witness further incidents.

Cllr Jonathan McShane, Hackney Council’s cabinet member for health, social care and culture said: “The cost of cleaning up and repairs following the vandalism has to be met by the council at a time of unprecedented pressure on our budgets.”
