Save Lea Marshes is holding a quiz night on Friday October 25 to raise funds for its campaign work to keep the marshes open and green.

The event at the Hare and Hounds pub in Lea Bridge Road starts at 7.30pm and costs £1.50 to take part.

The following night sees a candlelit gathering with author Gareth Rees reading extracts from his upcoming book Marshland: Dreams and Nightmares on the Edge of London.

People are encouraged to dress up warm and bring along tealights in jam jars for the event at 7pm on Saturday October 26 by the old changing rooms on Hackney North Marsh.
