The Urban Dialogues exhibition is running at the Red Gallery in Rivington Street until October 14.

Featuring the work of 20 artists and two collaborative works designed to raise questions about our assumptions about people of other religious and ethnic backgrounds, it will also feature a series of related events.

It will kick off with a festival night this evening (Oct 3) which includes diverse music, spoken word and street food.

On Sunday there will be a day of play for children with art workshops, interactive theatre and storytelling.

Next Thursday there will be a panel discussion on faith and feminism followed by performances by women.

The final event on October 13 will celebrate the launch of a new choir and will feature free singing workshops and an afternoon of song.

Urban Dialogues manager Holly Jones, 43, said: “I think it’s a really exciting this year. We have been able to involve new partners as well as continuing to work with our original organisations

“The standard of artwork this year is really high. We also have some amazing events lined up for the next two weeks.”

The exhibition is being run by organisation 3FF which works to create understanding between people of different faiths and non-religious beliefs.
