A HUGE explosion in a Stoke Newington flat forced tens of residents out of their homes as emergency services evacuated the area.
The explosion happened at a ground-floor flat in Aden Grove at around 6.20pm on Monday (January 31).
The flat is thought to be occupied by an elderly man who miraculously was not in when the suspected gas explosion happened.
Ambulance, fire and polcie crews raced to the scene and around 35 residents were forced to take sanctuary at Stoke Newington Town Hall.
No injuries have been reported.
