Firefighters are battling a blaze at a block of flats in Upper Clapton.
Road closures around the scene in Mount Pleasant Hill are in place while six fire crews and 35 firefighters bring the fire, which broke out at about 1pm, under control.
A London Fire Brigade spokesman said the fire was affecting a four room flat on the second floor, as well as balconies on levels three, four and five.
The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.
