Firefighters are currently tackling a fire affecting a lorry and two vans at a water works on Lea Bridge Road in Hackney.
It is believed that the lorry has some gas cylinders on board, and as gas cylinders can explode when exposed to heat, firefighters have set up a temporary cordon as a precaution.
Six fire engines and around 30 firefighters from Homerton, Bethnal Green, Leyton, Bow, Hornchurch, and Stoke Newington fire stations are at the scene.
The Brigade was called at 1149.
The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.
