First Haggerston pupil ever secures place at Cambridge University

Haggerston School is celebrating its first ever pupil to secure a place at Cambridge University today.
With two A* and an A and a B, Gokce Tapki is going on to read History at Newnham College.
She said: “I cant wait to get into more depth with a subject I really enjoy at one of the best universities in the world. When I knew my results its wasn’t really a question, I was just excited about starting.”
The school in Weymouth Terrace has achieved its best ever A-level exam results, with pupils attaining an average of 755.9 points per student. There were 82 per cent of pupils who achieved grades A to C, and a four per cent failure rate.
