A social justice campaigner is appealing from information after his “lifeline” bike was nicked from outside St Leonard’s Church in Shoreditch.

Hugo Sugg, who ran in June’s General Election after crowdfunding his campaign, is desperate to get his wheels back so he can cycle from his home in Homerton to his job as a barista in Marylebone.

The homelessness campaigner was given the black bike as a moving present by his brother-in-law. It had a D-lock on the back wheel attached to the frame when it was stolen on Sunday between 6.30pm and 10pm.

“It’s a lifeline because I have a low income at the moment and can’t afford travel all the time,” he told the Gazette. “This bike got me to and from work which is now difficult.”

Anyone who sees the bike or has any information can contact the Gazette on 020 7433 0104 or email sam.gelder@archant.co.uk.
