A fire at a cafe in Stoke Newington left one man needing treatment for smoke inhalation.
It took 35 firefighters to tackle the blaze in the basement of Lydia’s Cafe, Church Street yesterday morning. Two people managed to get out of the cafe before the brigade arrived, as did two more from the flats above it.
The fire was under control in an hour-and-a-half. Crews from Stoke Newington, Hornsey, Islington, Homerton and Tottenham attended.
The casue of the blaze is not being investigated.
