Four people escaped from a burning flat in Stoke Newington in the early hours of Monday morning.
Half of the Sydner Road property was damaged in the fire, but two men and two women managed to get out unscathed.
The brigade was called at 2.45am and the blaze was under control within 90 minutes. Police also attended and taped off the area.
Four engines and 21 firefighters from Stoke Newington, Islington, Shoreditch and Kentish Town attended.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
