The adverse weather is making police and family increasingly concerned for the safety and welfare of a Hackney pensioner who has been missing for five days.
William Lee, 77, was last seen leaving his home address in Stoke Newington on Thursday 21 March.
Officers are particularly concerned as Mr Lee is suffering from the early stages of dementia.
They continue to conduct street searches and are urging members of the public to keep an eye out for Mr Lee, who is also known as Bill.
Mr Lee’s children said they are extremely worried about him. “We have been searching for him especially in areas from his past,” they said.
“He used to work at Regents Army Barracks in Albany Street and this is a place that he is very fond of and he may find his way there.
“We are hoping he will be found and return home to us safely.
“We ask that if anyone sees him please call the police.”
Mr Lee is black, 6ft tall and of a medium build, with a greying beard and moustache and he is known to be well-spoken and friendly.
He has gone missing before and was found wandering around Whittington Hospital in Archway.
Anyone with information should call police by dialling 101.
