City Academy has seen an 11 per cent increase in students achieving A* to C in English and maths, bucking the national trend.
Ten subjects scored a 100pc pass rate, including each of the sciences, art and computer science.
And principal Mark Emmerson said the results were a testament to the hard work of the staff and students:
“Following on from our impressive first A-level results, the continued excellent performance of students at GCSE is very pleasing,” he said.
“The progress students make at our academy is exceptional and the latest set of results are likely to place it as the highest performing school in Hackney for student progress, and in the top five in the country for the third year in a row.”
