Pupils across Hackney are finding out if they made the grade in their GCSE results today.
Schools in the borough will be hoping to top last year’s results which saw 61.3 per cent of students obtain the benchmark five A* to C grades including English and maths, which was up 0.8 per cent on the previous year.
The day is especially significant for The City Academy, which opened in Homerton Row in 2009, as its first cohort of students will collect their GCSE results.
