Diane Abbott is still standing in tomorrow’s General Election despite being replaced as shadow home secretary because she is unwell.
Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn today said Ms Abbott was “not well”, and announced West Ham candidate Lyn Brown would be taking her place in his cabinet.
But Ms Abbott took to Twitter this afternoon to put to bed rumours she may not be standing.
She said: “Touched by all the messages of support. Still standing! Will rejoin the fray soon. Vote Labour!”
