A photographic book homes in on one season at the UK’s unofficial home of Sunday league football, Hackney Marshes.
Simon Di Principe celebrates the players populating its pitches for a 10.30am kick off, week in, week out, “for nothing more than the pleasure of playing” in Grassroots.
He said: “Grass Roots is a reminder about the breadth of community spirit that can be fostered through organised sports leagues and how amateur football is a gateway to settling into a happy life.”
