Arcola Theatre among winners of a ‘green gong’
Three Hackney organisations have been named among the best sustainable businesses in London.
Arcola Theatre in Ashwin Street won the Climate Change and Greening the Third Sector categories at the Sustainable City Awards on February 3.
Get More Local, a Hoxton loyalty card scheme giving unemployed young people work, came top in the Sustainable Procurement challenge and bus operator Hackney Community Transport, based at the Ash Grove depot in Mare Street, was highly commended in the Sustainable Travel and Transport section.
Feimatta Conteh, sustainability projects manager at Arcola Theatre, said: “We’re thrilled with the recognition, in a field of incredibly strong entries, including several others from Hackney.”
