Unwanted baby clothes or equipment can now be donated in Hoxton to families having trouble providing for their little ones.

Collections for the Growbaby initiative can be made at the Ivy Street Family Centre in Hoxton.

Help to bring its manager, Angela Large’s idea to fruition was given by the East London Business Alliance and volunteers from City companies Linklaters, Broadgate and UBS.

The launch party was attended by MP for Hackney South Meg Hillier last week.

“It’s such a simple idea and yet so vital to many local families,” said Ms Hillier who has donated some of her own children’s clothes and equipment.

“I am quite attached to the things my children have used and I wanted to give them to someone who really needs them.” The centre is open for donations on Thursdays during term time from 9.30 to 3pm.
