A South Hackney actor helped make seriously-ill children’s dreams come true by taking part in a sponsored 10 mile run yesterday (Sunday October 30).

Duncan Brown, stage name Duncan Macinnes, who live in Shalbourne Square, ran through through Southsea and Portsmouth to complete Bupa’s Great South Run, in aid of Starlight Children’s Foundation.

The national charity grants once-in-a-lifetime wishes for seriously and terminally ill children, and provides entertainment in hospitals and hospices across the UK.

There are currently 61 poorly children awaiting once-in-a-lifetime wishes in London.

Duncan – who has appeared in BBC drama Casualty and Edward II at the National Theatre - was impressed by Starlight’s work, and wanted to raise money for the worthy cause which survives on donations alone.

To sponsor Duncan go online at http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-web/fundraiser/showFundraiserProfilePage.action?userUrl=DuncanMacInnes or contact Starlight at www.starlight.org.uk
