Artists along the Regent’s Canal will throw open their studio doors this weekend, offering the public the chance to enter a silent auction to bag one of their works at the bargain starting price of 150.

The artists are part of the charitable Barbican Arts Group Trust and relocated last year to 17 units in the new Kingsland Wharves development, in the Kingsland Basin, from nearby Hertford Road where they had been since 1989

Among the seventeen artists exhibiting are recently elected Royal Academician Timothy Hyman and Julie Major who was shortlisted for The Royal Society of British Sculptors’ FIRST@108 Public Art Award.

Paintings, sculpture, short films, ceramics photography and animation will be on show on October 15 and 16 from noon to 6pm.

A percentage of sales from the silent auction will be donated by the artists to the Barbican Arts Group Trust, which was formed in 1972 to create affordable artist studio and exhibiting space in the Barbican area.
