Firms are being asked to sign up to a town hall programme offering youngsters their first taste of working life.
The Hackney 100 scheme, piloted three years ago, gives 100 teens paid placements across a range of industries.
Hackney mayor Phil Glanville, said: “The pilot was a huge success. We want to make this year an even bigger success with more local businesses on board supporting even more young people across the borough.”
The roles will give the youngsters experience and skills to make them more employable when they leave education. The town hall is leading by example and employing 25 of the 100 in various roles. Amera Hussain, 18, graduated from the pilot. She said: “Working with the finance department at the council was by far the most useful and rewarding work experience I’ve had.”
