Battersea Dogs and Cats Home received a slightly larger feline visitor than usual this week when Kat B - who will play Puss in Boots in the Hackney Empire’s pantomime next month - turned up in full character.
The two London charities have joined forces to raise awareness of their work in the city.
Hackney Empire will help find homes for cats from the rescue centre by featuring some of the rescue moggies in its pantomime programmes.
Battersea, which is celebrating its 130th anniversary of re-homing cats this year, shelters 190 cats across three centres which are looking for new homes.
Puss in Boots runs at the Mare Street theatre from November 23 to the January 5 2014.
