An Italian organisation that promotes ‘slow living’ honoured Hackney with an award last night (Wednesday) for the borough’s supposedly increasingly laid-back approach to life.
L’Arte del Vivere con Lentezza, or The Art of Slow Living, also recognised Hackney as one of the greenest boroughs in London, and praised community organisations such as the Dalston Eastern Curve Garden.
Cllr Jonathan McShane accepted the award at an event at C.L.R. James Library.
Eastern Curve Garden is holding a Hackney Food Growers’ Fair on Sunday from 1pm to 5pm.
The garden’s clay oven will be lit and people are invited to bring along a dish to cook.
