A professional photographer from Hackney has been shortlisted for a prestigious national award where his photograph will be displayed at an awards ceremony in the House of Commons.
Tom Luddington, 43, from Clapton Pond, was shortlisted in the professional photographer category in the EEF/Lombard manufacturing photography competition.
His image will go on display on Thursday December 10 when the winning image is announced.
He was shortlisted for his shot of a flowmeter, manufactured by Hampshire company Atout Process, in the New Forest, Lymington.
The competition aims to raise the profile of modern day UK manufacturing by showcasing the industry’s creativity, diversity and heritage through inspiring photography.
He said: “Manufacturing offers lots of opportunities for exciting, interesting and dynamic images – the challenge as a photographer is to capture all that in a single shot.
“I really hope my photograph makes people think about manufacturing in a different way, and I really hope the judges enjoy my work the way I do.”
