Staff and families from 40-year-old children and young people's charity Hackney Playbus attended a red carpet afternoon tea at Claridge's in Mayfair, hosted by X-Factor judge Simon Cowell.
Staff members Jane Lavelle and Sarah Wilson were joined by parents Mine Oguz and Annabelle Burns and children Yurdal Oguz, Elliot Walker and Hattie Walker who regularly attend the Hackney Playbus free mobile play service, which operates across several East London boroughs.
Sarah Wilson, play lead and communications officer, said: “It’s fantastic to see the work of so many local charities like ours being celebrated here today and supported through the grants awarded by People’s Health Trust.
“The funding we received is enabling us to provide more free play opportunities to East London communities, helping hundreds of families to get outside more and access support services in their area.”
The charity was chosen to represent North London charities who have received funding raised by the society lotteries through The Health Lottery
The event was on March 28.
