Hackney police hunt hit and run suspects with T74 number plate
A man was seriously injured last night in a hit and run collision in Stamford Hill.
Shortly before the incident at 8.15pm, officers from the Territorial Support Group had pulled their carrier up behind a parked car containing three men in Cranwich Road.
When officers got out of the carrier, one of the passengers jumped out and ran off, while the car sped off, turning into Amhurst Park.
A police spokesman said: “What sounded like a collision and someone shouting about a person having been “hit” was then heard by the officers.

Police officers found a 59-year-old man with leg injuries in Amhurst Park.

Betzalel Just, who was at the scene said: “I think the man’s leg was crushed by the vehicle.
“I heard one of the police officers on scene saying he believes the leg will need to be amputated.”
Hatzola, the Jewish fast response ambulance service, and London Ambulance Service attended the scene, and the patient was taken by Hatzola to an east London hospital.
His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
Shomrim, the volunteer Jewish civilian patrol group, also attended and helped search for the driver.
The serious collision investigation unit based at Chadwell Heath Traffic is investigating the collision.
The car which sped off from officers is described as a small coupe with a partial registration of “T74”.
