Hackney residents are invited to take part in a Question Time style debate about the future of the borough with a panel of local experts, including Mayor Jules Pipe.

The event will be held at the City Academy, in Homerton Row, on March 18 and will give people the chance to air their views and concerns on the changes in Hackney over the coming years.

The panel discussion is part of a year-long council programme to engage with residents about their experiences of rapid social and economic change in the borough.

The panel will be chaired by long-time Hackney resident Dave Hill, who writes the Guardian’s On London column and his own Clapton Pond blog.

It will also include Mayor Jules Pipe, local resident and Birkbeck academic, Melissa Butcher, barrister Tunde Okewale, senior public policy advocate at StepChange Debt Charity Robbie de Santos and Dr Cheryl Day - headteacher at Clapton Girls’ Academy.
