The Speaker of Hackney joined people from the borough who have lost their sight at Westminster, to celebrate the work of a charity improving their lives.
Cllr Susan Fajana-Thomas joined other Mayors and civil dignitaries from London’s 12 inner city boroughs to hear about BlindAid.
She said: “Social isolation is a problem for many and for people living with sight loss it can be particularly difficult to overcome.
“BlindAid’s home visitors make an important difference to the lives of blind and partially sighted people in London and it is a pleasure to join the charity’s staff, supporters and service users to recognise this important work.”
