A team of young adults are aiming to address money management issues among their peers with a series of theatre-based workshops.
The team, from Hackney’s Immediate Theatre, is one of 26 in the capital and will deliver the workshops to teach young people aged 16 to 24 the importance of budgeting and where to go for debt support.
The scheme is part of a Lloyd’s Banking Group competition, Money for Life Challenge.
Chloe Jones, at Immediate Theatre, said: “Money management skills are vital to our everyday lives and we are delighted that the Money Matters team are taking part in the Money for Life Challenge this year.
“The team has devised an innovative money management project that uses their skill in theatre and dramatic arts to explore financial issues experienced by young people across Hackney.
“They will undertake three workshops, and will take these to other youth organisations across the borough. They are very excited about putting their ideas into practice.”
