Fresh-faced readers without a driver’s licence will know the frustration of having to carry their passport as ID on nights out and at the shops.

Now one woman from Homerton has had enough. Dannii Joyette-Hadaway has come up with an ID card that can also do contactless payments.

Through The Prince’s Trust Start-Up Business Enterprise programme, she has produced IDGO – pronounced “I’d go” – which is now in the process of being verified by the Proof of Age Standards Scheme (Pass).

“During five years working in the events industry I realised a large majority of the public brought their passports along to prove their age and identity,” said Dannii. “After I lost my provisional licence at a nightclub and then my passport at a festival I recognised it was a huge issue and had an idea to combat it.”
