An app has been launched to help parents who are worried their child might be getting into trouble.
Parents’ Voice was launched on the back of increasing death rates among young people and has run sessions for parents for more than a year.
But the team decided they could reach more by creating the app, which offers parents advice and information about their youngsters’ welfare within the “four tiers” – child sexual exploitation, domestic violence, gang affiliation and cannabis and the increased risk of mental health issues.
Parents’ Voice co-founder Kelly Reid said: “We were reaching people but an awful lot felt embarrassed or ashamed about their child’s situation so we launched the app, which is anonymous.”
The free app is on Android devices but should be released on iPhone within months.
