A young graduate is seeking to make the world a better place by raising money for a charity trip to El Salvador by walking 12 miles from Edmonton to Brixton.
Elam Forrester, 23, of Haggerston Estate needs to raise 800 to take part on a scheme that will send her to work on projects for women’s rights and children’s education.
“I’ve always wanted to volunteer in South America. The help the charity can do is quite dramatic. This is about raising awareness,” she said.
The walk, on September 13, took her down the A10, through Hackney where her family and friends came to support her.

“There are also lots of Latin American communities along my walk. This is really an opportunity of a lifetime, I just really need some public support to raise funds.”
