A public meeting has been organised by the City and Hackney Division of the British Medical Association inform Hackney residents about the state of the NHS.
The trade union for doctors fears NHS services are in danger of becoming fragmented, with hospital Trusts able to offer 49 per cent of their services to private patients, and increasing bureaucracy and administrative costs meaning less money available for NHS care.
“Trust between patients and doctors will be damaged - how can patients be confident that decisions are made for their best clinical care, rather than financial incentives?” said Chairwoman Dr Coral Jones.
The meeting takes place in Abney Hall, 73a Stoke Newington Church Street on Tuesday October 9 at 7.30pm and speakers include MP Diane Abbott.
