The doors of St Joseph’s Hospice are being thrown open to the public for its first ever open day, to help people overcome their fears and challenge misconceptions about hospices.

Key members of staff at the hospice in Mare Street will be on hand to answer questions on Friday June 8 from 2pm to 5pm.

Sarah Burnard, interim manager of St Joseph’s community engagement hub Finding Space, said: “This event is an opportunity for people to overcome misconceptions about hospices and to find out what we really do.

“By coming and seeing what really happens here, people can overcome their fears as well as tell us what services they would like to see us provide.”
