Jennette Arnold joined in with a singing workshop for people with dementia, aimed to help them communicate, improve their mood and leave them feeling good about themselves.
Hackney’s London Assembly representative went to Sutton House in Homerton to see the Alzheimer’s Society Singing for the Brain session.
“Singing for the Brain is an excellent example of a service that helps members of the community with dementia to come together in a fun and social environment,” said Jennette, who is a member of the Health Committee tasked with reviewing health and wellbeing across London.
David Morris, from the Alzheimer’s Society in North East London, said: “Even when memories are hard to retrieve, many people with dementia can still recall and relate positively to music.
