Amateur snappers asked to attend to Shoreditch gallery
Hackney people are being asked to unearth their old family albums on Friday (October 23) for a photography portfolio documenting the history of multi-cultural Britain.
Arts charity Autograph ABP will be collecting photographs at the Missing Chapter roadshow at Rivington Place gallery in Shoreditch between 12 noon and 5pm.
Organisers are inviting residents from culturally diverse backgrounds to have their snapshots of everyday life professionally reviewed and digitised, ready to become part of an online image archive.
This is the first in a series of events across the UK over the next year.
Mark Sealy, director of Autograph ABP, said: “The roadshows will allow us to build on our 20 year history of working with photographers and artists and to create a permanent testament to the crucial contribution their work has made to the cultural life of Britain. The missing chapter will finally be filled.”
Anyone that cannot attend but would like to take part can email email@example.com.
